Fish Fry is one of the most exciting times in the week. Fish fry is every Wednesday night and the food served is delicious.
Fried whitefish, and provincial, along with fiddleheads. Fiddleheads are young frawns (ferns) that are just starting to emerge from the ground (they taste earthy). They are picked locally from a young man on Mile 209 and sent up to us. Other food served is greek, potatoe, coleslaw, spinach and macaroni salads. Along with a veggie tray, pickle tray, olive tray, homemade beans, and bannack. Dessert is 'Haiwaiin Dreams' which you need to try to enjoy, their sooo delicious!
After supper, we have 'Minnow Races'. Minnow races is a game invented with a track, starter and minnows. We have 6 heats, and the winners from all the heats race in the last one. Bets are placed on different fish and overall a good time for everyone.
Here are some pictures from yesterdays' fish fry.
